Continuons notre visite du Musée Maillol et de l’exposition d'Elliott Erwitt

Étrangement ce thème très connu d'Erwitt est celui qui m'a le moins inspiré et j'en ai rapporté
peu de photos, peut-être parce qu'il n'y avait pas de chiens dans la salle ....

Ce thème traité par Erwitt "l'observation des visiteurs des musées" m'a semblé familier ....

J'ai donc, dans ce musée, capturé des visiteurs regardant des photos de visiteurs de musées ...
Quelle mise en abyme !

The ratio of successful shots is one in God-knows-how-many. Sometimes you'll get several in
one contact sheet, and sometimes it's none for days. But as long as you go on taking pictures,
you're likely to get a good one at some point.

Covering a historic event is perfectly legitimate. It's not sneaking into somebody's boudoir...
These people belong to history, and not to record that if you have the opportunity would
be wrong.

My first serious camera was a Rolleiflex. I used it for quite some time, until I got tired of the
square format which is not really terribly suitable to the kind of pictures that I was interested in.
Also it's a camera that you don't use up to the eye but to the stomach, and I always think it's
better to look at what you're photographing through your eyes rather than through your stomach.

J'aurais bien emprunté le Rolleiflex en arrière plan, mais je crois que la zone était surveillée...

I don't really have a favorite camera. I use a Leica and Canon a lot. It depends, especially
professionally, on the requirements. But my carry-around camera is a Leica.
